Do you qualify?

The Chancenkarte lets you move to Germany without a job offer and search for full stack development roles for up to 12 months. You need a qualifying degree (ISCED 6 or higher) and — if not fully recognised — at least 6 points.

Full stack development is the profession where both the Diplôme d'Ingénieur (ISCED 7) and the 3-year Licence LMD Informatique (ISCED 6) are regularly sufficient as the base qualification. OFPPT Technicien Spécialisé Développement Digital / Développement Informatique (Bac+2) does not meet the threshold.

Common mistakes

OFPPT Développement Digital diploma submitted as the base qualification. OFPPT Bac+2 diplomas are below ISCED 6 and do not meet the Chancenkarte's minimum degree requirement.

Licence Professionnelle (1-year after Bac+2) treated as equivalent to Licence LMD. These are different credentials. A Licence Professionnelle sits at ISCED 5 or borderline 6. Get a ZAB assessment before applying.

No English certificate despite being proficient. An IELTS or TOEFL at B2 is 1 additional point and is often the cheapest route to 6. Book it 6–8 weeks before your planned appointment.
