Do you qualify?
The Chancenkarte lets you move to Germany without a job offer and search for Java development roles for up to 12 months. You need a qualifying degree (ISCED 6 or higher) and — if not fully recognised — at least 6 points.
Both the Diplôme d'Ingénieur d'État (5 years, ISCED 7) and the 3-year Licence LMD Informatique (ISCED 6) qualify as the base credential. OFPPT Technicien Spécialisé does not.

Worked example: Yassine Bakkali, 30, Java developer, Licence LMD Informatique from FST Marrakech (programme not listed), 3 years Spring Boot production experience, TOEFL iBT 85 (B2), no German: 1 (shortage) + 2 (experience) + 2 (under 35) + 1 (English B2) = 6 points ✓
Financial requirement: the Sperrkonto
€13,092 in a blocked Sperrkonto before your appointment. Open at least 4 weeks early (Fintiba, Coracle, Expatrio).
What you can do on the Opportunity Card
- Part-time work: up to 20 hours per week on average
- Trial employment: up to 2 weeks per employer
- Freelancing: not permitted

Which German mission handles your application
Embassy Rabat and Consulate General Casablanca. Jurisdiction follows your registered address. Book via digital.diplo.de.
Common mistakes
Licence Professionnelle submitted as equivalent to Licence LMD. Different credentials. A 1-year Licence Professionnelle after Bac+2 is not the same as the 3-year Licence LMD. Get a ZAB assessment if your diploma says "Licence Professionnelle."
No English certificate when it would clear 6 points. IELTS or TOEFL at B2 is typically the cheapest single point to earn — book it early.
OFPPT diploma submitted as the base qualification. OFPPT Bac+2 is below ISCED 6. Not eligible.
